On March 31st and April 1st, I had the distinct pleasure of discussing how we are implementing our vision for the network with past and present Signal senior leaders at the 2011 Signal General Officer and Senior Executive Summit.
Here’s an abbreviated version of what I said about Enterprise Email. The BLUF is we’ve had some challenges but remain on track to migrate the rest of the Army by the end of year. And most importantly, feedback from users on enterprise email has been overwhelmingly positive.
As of April 1, approximately 2,300 users have been migrated to the DISA-provided email service. Per the plan, they include personnel from CIO/G-6, NETCOM/9th Sig Command SC(A), 7th Signal Command, and the Research, Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM). The new CIO/G-6, LTG Lawrence, and her Senior Enlisted Advisor, Sergeant Major McCrary have been on enterprise email since their arrival. All across the Signal/IT Community, our leaders continue to be completely committed to the cause. This is a good thing because we’ve had to work through a number of challenges.
